Sorry that is who I meant to put in the parentheses. Great cover.

"Bennie," yes. ... "Standing," not even close.

Mike Gibbons (Sunday Papers podcast and late night tv show producer) going off on Bernie Taupin is great. His argument is Elton John is great because he turns the dreck Taupin writes into good songs.

Never heard of the Chameleons prior to this week, despite by love of 80s British music. What an atmospheric track.

The ones with damp lower extremities have dropped a Paramore cover that I missed.

They should have been right in the wheelhouse of Madchester and never heard of them.

They're not Chameleons, they're the Austin Lounge Lizards.

Always wondered about this Go-Go's video from 1984. The rest of the band played onstage in men's attire but the drummer stayed girly girl.

The self-admitted final gig of the first album from the Humidified Hussies.

Maybe finally some new music by mid-summer 2024.

(They fucked up the opening to "Piece of Shit," which is endearing.)

I had a hankering for some Texas music. Joe Ely, 1980. Helluva band backing him. The late great Jesse Taylor on lead guitar. Ponty Bone on the accordion. Lloyd Maines, father of Natalie Maines of The Chicks on the pedal steel.

Joe with Jimmy Dale Gilmore and Butch Hancock. Collectively they were The Flatlanders, Americana before anyone called it that. Jimmy has that High Lonesome Sound in spades. You might recognize Jimmy even if you don't know his music. Among other acting gigs, he played Smokey in the Big Lebowski.
