He did manage to fuck the playoff chances of the Steelers and Broncos. That's something, right?

Commies moved to No. 3 with that Denver win, so thanks Santa Bill! Washington finishes with San Fran and Dallas so there's basically a zero chance that they win and move back down.

I don’t think Belichick will be there next year.
I think he takes a year off. Maybe 2.
But he won’t stay away from the game forever. He just can’t.
I could see him collaborating with NFL and some of the old-time guys that are still around and writing a book…..he won’t do tv. He won’t do any of the shows. He may appear on some coaches panels…..not like Inside the NFL…..
Outwardly, I think he has the personality of a can of Folgers. But that is probably one of the biggest football nerds you’ll probably ever meet.
Get him in a room with some old footage and some of the old minds and just watch his eyes light up.

Belichick will be 72 in April. He needs 27 wins to pass Shula for the all-time wins lead, so if he goes somewhere, it won't be a rebuilding scenario. The Chargers make some sense as a team that can actually win with a competent coach, the pieces are there when they're healthy.

Fun fact: The oldest ever head coach was Romeo Crennel at 73 when he was Houston's interim HC in 2020. Bill will probably have to coach until he's 75 or 76 to have any chance of the record.

Spanos family very unlike to meet Belichick's price. As one of the NFL's primo historians, he's well aware of their status as a Lake, nay, Ocean of Fail and Bad Luck.

Texans win their final game last year. Didn’t hurt them in the draft.

Is there some sure-fire order of preferred college players coming out that makes 2 all that more valuable than 4 or 5?

I wouldn't trust Caleb Williams, Drake Maye or Jayden Daniels to be any kind of franchise savior.

Belichick will stay in the division ... so Jets?

Jets just said Salah is coming back. Also, Belichick would NEVER go there. I am not at all certain that Belichick is intent on going somewhere else if his Pats' tenure has run its course, but if I had to guess, if the Bears clean house it's the most attractive landing spot, and Washington might appeal to him because then he could live in Annapolis where he grew up.

And based on the draft results we see year after year from NFL GMs, I wouldn't trust GMs to make them.

    I can already see it.
If Belichick takes another job, his introductory presser….”Happy to be here….Getting ready for our first preseason game.”

I would trust either of the two can’t-miss tackles before I’d trust the quarterbacks.
