And that's why they're the Pistons.

Hold on ... an NBA team has lost 28 straight games?!?!?

Could have sworn the Dave Corzine-era Bulls would have been the team Detroit out-stank for the record ...

There are three winless teams in DI men's basketball. One of them is Detroit Mercy. What a miserable year to be a Motown basketball fan.

At least Wayne State is 5-5.

    Detroit Mercy headlines write themselves.

It was on NBA TV. I saw the score late and figured if the game wasn't on, they'd at least provide updates. NBA TV was showing the Celtics feed.

Jesus, Scalabrine is a homer. What a clown.

I absolutely love Scal on The Starting Lineup with Isola, where he often rips the Celts and has good insight into the games, but last night was the first time I heard him call a game and he did neither. He was a homer and only pointed out the obvious. I was so disappointed.

Don't care what the odds are, but I'm betting Pistons money line tomorrow. Raptors at home on the second night of a back-to-back for Toronto. If it doesn't happen tomorrow, it won't happen for a while.

He has gotten better if you can believe it. He was working far too hard to fill Tommy Heinsohn's role (especially when it came to Marcus Smart) but has backed off to become more measured and objective. He reverts to his lizard brain when Tatum is having a subpar game or the team is struggling against an inferior opponent and then he makes the old TBS Braves crew look like C-SPAN.

Last night was especially bad, culminating with the broadcast naming Tatum "player of the game" after shooting 11-31, taking KOBE!!! after KOBE!!!, and when anyone with eyes knew Porzingas and White were the guys last night,

Was too busy to post earlier this weeek but, as someone who has repeatedly Googled "Why are the Pistons so bad?" James Edwards of the Athletic pretty much answered the question in depth here:

How the Pistons, one of the NBA's most storied franchises, cratered

In the long term there have been some truly disastrous drafts: Taking Killian Hayes over Tyrese Haliburton in 2020. In 2019, they took African project Sekou Doumboya, who was out of the league in three seasons. Took Luke Kennard over Donovan Mitchell in 2017. Took a white dude from western Wisconsin in the first round in 2016 who played less than 60 games in Detroit over Caris LaVert and Pascal Siakam. Took Stanley Johnson over Michigan native and Pistons fan Devin Booker in 2015.

In the short term, Cade Cunningham missed nearly the entire 2021-22 season due to a shin problem (I was not aware you could have a season-ending shin injury?). In a league where the 3-ball is king, the Pistons are currently tied for the worst 3-point shooting percentage in the league. Finishes in that statistic in recent years: 23rd, 29th, 23rd, 11th, 23rd. Everyone turns the ball over too much. They started 2-1, then blew a big lead and lost at home to Portland, which appeared to have blown up their confidence to the point that now other teams don't want to be embarrassed by being the ones to lose to them.

I experienced the Goin' To Work Pistons and remember some of the Bad Boys era and this whole thing is a giant fucking embarrassment. I can't even watch other teams' NBA games right now because of it.
