    He bought the company for probably 3-4x what it was worth and 1.5x what anyone would pay for it. Even without his mismanagement, the value would have plummeted given the trends in the industry. And he’s happy to drive it into the ground as long as he gets the likes from the incels and right wing influencers

    It does mean something because he borrowed money to buy it.

    Musk doesn't have a ton of cash. He borrowed over 1/4 of the cost of Twitter. The banks can't get rid of the loans. He can't refinance at a better rate and his collateral is a lot less.
