As are a number of other important issues, and all I can do is pray that the Supremes stop ignoring precedent and writing the law to suit their whims.

The Roberts court already punted on gerrymandering and did so in a way that made things much worse. I can't see the court taking it up again until there's significant change in the membership.

And while gerrymandering has been around for a very long time, it got significantly worse with redistricting following the 2010 Census and the rise of data-mapping tools that allow much more precise packing and cracking to get the desired results.

The answer, it seems, is for citizens to demand non-partisan redistricting commissions through ballot initiatives in states that allow citizen-initiated state constitutional amendments. But not all states, including my own, have that, so we'll never see it here. Some states may have existing provisions in their state constitutions that make gerrymandering more difficult for the gerrymanderers, but as we saw in North Carolina, that can be undone with a change on the state supreme court, which is why citizens need to demand change in their state constitutions.

Not really a surprise - the "lamestream" media will go on to the next thing as events dictate - RW news and radio will beat something to death. Spend so much time talking about something, it will become part of the narrative. Or, NOT spend any time talking about it, it will never gain traction to a huge chunk of news consumers.

A poster read a headline and spiked a football.

Our immigration policy is an unmitigated disaster - for the refugees and undocumented immigrants, too.

The death card in Tarot signifies change, not literal death.

Fox News spends less time per day on actual news than MTV does airing music videos.
