Yeah, I’ve read about Steve Little. Talk about your all-time having a bad days.

I’ve long been fascinated by his time in St. Louis. Lots of YouTube games from 1978-80 where you can see his struggles. The Cardinals didn’t get the kicker right ever throughout the 1980s.

He misses an XP and the Cardinals lose by 8. Hanifan finally snaps, goes Hunger Games at practice with Little vs Neil O’Donoghue. Winner gets the job. Little loses and get cuts on the spot, tells the press he’s going to have some cold ones.

18 hours later, he’s paralyzed from the neck down after crashing his car in the rain.

The Cardinals struggled with the concept of just because a guy was great kicking FGs off a tee in college doesn’t mean he’s going to kick FGs well without a tee.

Well, I went down that rabbit hole for a little bit. Amazingly, people ask Neil O'Donoghue if he feels any responsibility for Little's fate. What horseshit.

I can't say I look favorably upon the wife who served him divorce papers as he was about to get out of rehab. But I also haven't had to walk in her shoes.

Let us all lift a glass to the poor desker who gets the "Where's Peacock" call just before kickoff, much like the ones who have to tell college rings fans where TruTV is.

It's cute that you think there are still deskers in sports departments.

We have Peacock. My wife watches stuff on it, and it is indeed pretty good. I don’t think I’d sign up for one NFL playoff game if I didn’t have it already.

I use Peacock every weekend for the Premier League. There's a lot of good content on it.

I signed up for Peacock a couple years ago because it was the only place you could get the Rockford Files streaming.
It isn't anymore, but it has a lot of NBC/Universal stuff including SNF and some MLB games. Plus it's now the backup/alternate outlet for B1G Network stuff. So there are quite a few things I might watch on Peacock.

Good point. I forgot I’ve watched at least one Big Ten hoops game on it. Also reminds me Peacock’s UX on mobile needs a lot of work.

I read that the Peacock regular season game averages something like 7.1 million and peaked at more than 8 million, which is crap really compared to the rest of the NFL and way below a playoff game.

But it made me wonder, was that just on Peacock or how much of that was from the local teams being on linear TV?

I think the NFL might rethink this after this year, although if enough people sign up just for that and it gets to 15 million or more they may just go all in.

    People here are so nice.

Based on the amount of pretzels I just crushed, there’s a chance I’m high. And they just legalized the weed here.

That said, the last time the Browns were in the playoffs, their wildcard game against Pittsburgh was the most-watched single-network game that weekend with 26 million viewers. In the divisional round, Browns-Chiefs was the second-most watched game, edged by a million or so by Brady and Tampa against the Saints. So while I may be high, I’m not just shooting from the hip. The Browns, during the very rare seasons when they are playing at this time of year, are a good draw and I believe will be this weekend. I might be wrong. The Browns, with the whole Flacco thing, are a much more interesting team than in 2020 and a ton of people watched, so I think a lot of people might tune in this time who otherwise wouldn't have (and certainly wouldn't have were Watson playing).
