Packers-Cowboys gets an extra bump up if you're 60-plus. That was THE matchup for kids growing up in that era, some of the most memorable matchups of my youth.

You think they are getting a mid round pick?

I think you get a first plus multiple picks.

It’s not unthinkable. I have no idea, to be honest. Just when the market looks settled, the Panthers step up and trade the farm for an Oompa Loompa. Whatever they get, if they trade him, won’t surprise me. Still would rather have Fields and Harrison than any QB in the draft and not Harrison.

Same. But the Bears coaching staff, Luke Getsy especially, did everything in its power to sabotage Fields in Chicago. Sadly, they appear to have succeeded.

They had a few go-rounds in the 90s as well. The Cowboys knocked out the Packers three years in a row (1993-95) during their dynasty — and mostly kicked Green Bay's ass doing it — when the Favre-era Packers were still on the rise.
Then, of course, you had the two memorable meetings in 2015 ("Dez caught it!") and 2016 (Packers blow an 18-point lead, and then there are three go-ahead/tying field goals in the last 1:33 before the Pack wins it on a walk-off).

Even if the Browns are a good draw, both the Packers and Cowboys are as well and two good draws beats one. The Packers and Cowboys are both national brands with not only their own rich histories to play off of, but some iconic games with each other across several generations. Throw in the current teams' storylines (Jordan Love trying to make his mark with the plucky Packers vs. Can Dak finally get it done in the playoffs?) and Packers-Cowboys in the playoffs is a network executive's messy wet dream.

It's wild how our recent sporting memories can get cloudier as we get older. When I think of Packers-Cowboys I think of the Ice Bowl (before I was born I swear :D) and the great '90s clashes. Completely forgot the Dez Bryant game and the 2016 playoff game.

If they bring back Eberflus and Poles, drafting THEIR quarterback buys them at least two more years. So it wouldn't be the usual lame-duck situation. Whether they pick the right guy is another issue, but keeping Eberflus actually provides relative stability.

Keeping Eberflus would be the dumbest move possible. What good is stability when you're coming off 11 wins in two seasons? Stability of sub-mediocre? WHEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

So of course it's what the Bears will do. That fucking family can't die off soon enough. Maybe if enough do, the descendants will actually want to sell.

Given that drafting WRs in the top 5 is arguably more of a crapshoot than drafting QBs that high, I'd prefer the Bears trade down for the extra draft capital, target OL and QB in the first and grab a WR afterward in a class loaded with them.

Would be almost as bad as sticking with the quarterback, who is the poster boy for sub-mediocrity. I wouldn't be surprised either way, but Poles hired Eberflus, so I'd bet on him sticking around. Getsy will definitely be gone.

Sure. If they really want to max out the return and trade down to 8 or whatever, fine. They're gonna still end up with a lot of quality players, plus shots at least two future high firsts (or one and a really good player). And maybe one of those will be a QB who can actually beat a good defense.

I like Jayden Daniels. I envy whichever team gets him.
