Nobody cares about the Texans. Even in Houston. All Cowboys.

I blame John Harbaugh and his ruthless, unnecessary and distasteful decision to throw a touchdown pass.

There is about a 10-county area surrounding Greater Houston where it's plurality Texans over Cowboys.

There are 244 other counties in Texas.

I wonder, besides the Browns, what else about that 2020 game might have drawn in some viewers.

The question with Penix isn't talent or production this season. It is all the injuries.

He was at LSU for 2022. He was good, but not close to what he was in 2023. That 2021 does seem out of place. Maybe the team was really bad.

An old-school SJ.com coaching fraud!!! Even @JC might agree with that.

I have it. Got it for Premier League soccer, and to a point, IndyCar. I have to disagree. Of the services I have, it's the worst one.

The interface is, by miles, the worst of any of the services I've used. The only one I've had that drops more often is HBO Max. Compared to some of the other services, it doesn't have great shows. Even SNL, one they should ride to streaming dominance, is bullshit. It's the Lorne Michaels edited versions of the shows, which often cut out the good or controversial shit.

Even some of the free ones, like Tubi and Pluto, have a more diverse menu of shows, movies, etc., than Peacock does.

When my Premier League club got relegated, I was going to cancel, but they have Big Ten-related fare, so I haven't pulled the trigger.

I understand that streaming is reality, but there's going to be a critical mass reached. The reason many turned to streaming was because cable and satellite refused to be competitive from a pricing standpoint. They were cheaper ... so long as you showed some discipline and had one or two of them.

God bless those who have the discipline to do that. In our house, someone or another is paying for Prime, Youtube TV, Netflix, Paramount, Peacock, Disney+ and HBO Max, I think. The net spend is probably way more than satellite ever was. At some point, you cross a line for what you're willing to pay and then it becomes a test of what you're willing to miss.

And the truth is? Almost everything, including live sports, can afford to be missed.

I've had people who know I like soccer ask me what I think of "Ted Lasso" and I tell them I haven't seen it. "Haven't seen it?" they say incredulously.

No, I haven't seen it, because I pay for enough services as it is without Apple TV too.

Putting premium programming on these services might be good for the nets, but I'm not so sure it's good for highly-visible sports. The Premier League is one thing, for all of its surge in popularity in the last decade-plus, no one expects Burnley-Luton on network TV.

People do expect NFL playoff games on network TV, or at worst, a cable net. Forcing people into a consumer choice is never a good plan.

Yeah but they all tuned out after one play.

I was thinking about the saturation point as well today. We've got, to the best of my knowledge, cable plus Prime. Netflix, Disney+ & HBO Max. That's a lot for three people! But while my wife & daughter are fully immersed in streaming, I find it mostly unpleasant. Someone (I think @wicked) noted that it's still impossible to channel surf and will almost always remain impossible to channel surf.

And while we've got more streaming options than ever, the selection has become so consolidated that it's not only impossible to find a random old movie on streaming, it's becoming more and more difficult to find a random RECENT movie on streaming. Our daughter slept over a friend's house on New Years Eve so my wife & I figured it was a good time to finally begin watching the Creed series...except Creed was only available to purchase on Prime. Sorry Bezos, I'm not paying you another $15 to watch that.

Cable is still by far the lesser of all evils. Most shows are rerunning somewhere and if you have a movie package, you can see a wide variety of flicks at any time. The Beverly Hills Cop trilogy just started on Showtime Classic West. I can't wait to see Beverly Hills Cop IV! On Netflix, of course.

I'm as cord-cutter as they come and I can find what I want on YouTube or get highlights on social media. I have a radio too.
