That's how I see him, too. And does he ever use his full arm and body to throw a football?

Yup, NMU has always been D-II in all sports except for men's hockey. They did win a national championship in the 1970s but they haven't been good in football in 30 years, and went 0-11 last season under a first-year head coach. That said, if you're going to Marquette, you might enjoy taking a lap around the Superior Dome (it's on the lakeshore and rather hard to miss).

There have been some other Michigan folks who got mad about the all-blue look, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it has something to do with the fact that the 2021 Ohio State game, which kind of marked the program's first breakthrough to this level, was an all-blue get-up.

Thing I just noticed: In his five years as head coach at Western Michigan, Jack Harbaugh went 0-4-1 against CMU.

Probably belongs on the Larry King thread - but I wouldn't mind seeing Michigan play Georgia right about now.

Its also pretty clear to me that there is a significant gap between the Michigan/Ohio State/Georgia/Bama level of college football and everyone else.

Gap is even worse in FCS, it seems, where you've had five-peat, three-peat and repeat champions over the past 13 years.

Shouldn't we have Michigan play South Dakota State at a spot halfway between the two schools?

Halfway looks west of this location, but the closest place to it for a game looks like Madison.
PS:Just checked. Ann Arbor to SDSU is 871 miles. Ann Arbor to Madison is 396. So I'm pretty much right.

It's not Wheaties. It just isn't the same.

Division III was bad. Wisc-Whitewater and Mount Union every damned year. Don’t know if it’s still that way.

Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City used to host indoor college football Division II playoffs in the early 1970s.

Only been to Atlantic City a couple of times in the summer and hardly remember the Hall.

Does it still attract any big-time events? I know Mike Tyson boxed there a few times.

They played each other nine out of 10 years from 2005 to 2014. This year was the first time this century that either one of those two or Mary Hardin-Baylor did not play in the championship game.

Cortland beat North Central (Illinois) this season. North Central is the new hotness. It's been to the championship game four consecutive seasons (there was no season in 2020, so every year since 2019) and won twice. It has scored at least 30 points in 53 out of 59 games during that stretch.
