Saban has made more money for coaches the past 3 days than Jimmy Sexton has in a year.

    Made money for Sexton, too.

The talk out of Seattle is that a 1:30 p.m. PST team meeting has been called, so apparently it’s a done deal.

And as @Neutral Corner has noted, a lot of DeBoer’s coaches could be making the move with him, including OC Ryan Grubb.

I hope it all works out for you Bama backers and for DeBoer, a good guy by most accounts.

It’s already a more successful effort than the last time Alabama tried to hire a coach from the Evergreen State!

Grubb would be a good get. I would be concerned if he brings a bunch of his staff over because he will need to raise his game in recruiting and have some folks familiar with the SEC.

And while UW had their moments on defense this past season, the championship game performance shows DeBoer will really need to raise his game on that side of the ball.

Some coaches/recruiters with SEC experience and ties will help.

    I’m pretty surprised by this.
I figured it was Kiffin for the taking.

If he tries to bring the whole bunch it's a problem, and I doubt he has that much pull. I expect him to cherry pick the guys he really wants badly, but I can't help but think that DeBoer's staff will include plenty of guys with SEC experience and ties - whether he really wanted them or not.

I think Lane has showed his ass one too many times for that to happen. Not unless they worked their way that far down the list anyhow.

Yeah, I think he might've burned a bridge or two.

Saban was 7-6 in his first season at Alabama.

I don't follow Alabama closely but guessing Saban is leaving DeBoer with 20 times the amount of talent he inherited in his first season with the Tide.

Will DeBoer get chewed up and spit out? Possibly, but this is the opportunity of a lifetime for him. Bringing Grubb would be a huge step.

    Wishing DeBoer well.

Kiffin took the Florida Atlantic job during the playoffs and Alabama chose to dump him as OC right before the championship game... which they lost.

I don't think Kiffin had any shot at this one.

(And as an Oregon alum, I'm delighted by the DeBoer hire. Tremendous hire. And apparently UW is interested in Kliff Kingsbury, to which I say, yes, magnificent. Please hire Kliff for that job. I would love to see him in charge in Washington.)
