May not be obscure and likely a quick answer but I learned this tidbit from weekend reading ...
Former U.S. Speaker of the House John Boehner's high school head football coach later led a high-profile college program. Name the coach.

The first thought which came to mind about a high school coach leading a high profile program is Gerry Faust. Plus Faust coached in Ohio and I’m sure that’s where Boehner grew up. But Faust may be too young.

You nailed it. Played for Faust at Moeller High School.

Aug. 8, 1988. Or was it Aug. 9?
I remember they had a rainout, but can't remember which date it got moved to. I do recall 8/8/88 was involved.

Since 1900 there have been 16 triple crown seasons in Major League Baseball. What players accomplished the feat with the lowest totals in each category?
So who did it with the lowest HR total, lowest RBI total, lowest average? Three separate answers, not all the same guy.

We must be talking about the Wrigley Field in LA! Must have had lights because they hosted boxing.

LA Angels 6, Minnesota Twins 5 in 12 innings on 4/28/1961, the first MLB night game played at Wrigley Field, be it in Chicago or LA.

For triple crown average I'm thinking Frank Robinson, .316 in 1966.
