NFL Divisional Round weekend thread

Not that I'm old, Han, but I remember seeing that game on black and white TV in my father's den (where we had our TV). I was seven.

 

In 2002, I called a friend after the 7th inning of Game 6 of the World Series. I had a bet with him and I called to rub it in that he was going to have to pay up (loser had to buy the winner a pizza. We were high school seniors with no money, so it was fitting). I was so confident. There was no chance in hell. My dad looked up at me from the couch and said I shouldn't have done that. We all know what happened next.

So from then on, no matter how logical it was that my team was going to win something, I have been pessimistic about it. Sure, in retrospect, 2010 was obvious, but in the moment, there was no reason the Giants should have won. In 2012 and 14, I went the same way.

I find it better to get myself geared up for what could go wrong to not get as heartbroken as I was in 2002. Mind you it didn't help in 2013 or 2020, but I can't let myself get too high. Even if I have to OOP the team. I just can't get too high.

 

Speaking of Detroit-SF synergy.
