Although one of my stops has long left the building, my screams the day Mark Calcaveccia won a Seniors tournament in a playoff may still be echoing there

That's Scott Reid. Don't get it either. He did deep stuff that got the Cal swimming coach fired.

I have a hard time believing Soon-Shiong when he says he didn't know until after the fact that sports box scores were eliminated.

And I'd like to know what his "plan" is that he says they have for the future (near the end of the story). If he has a plan, it should be being implemented, so I'd like to know the details of it, particularly business-wise.

Despite whatever cutbacks and struggles have gone on in recent years, The Times' journalism is still pretty damn good, and not in need of any major overhaul, as Soon-Shiong sounds like he thinks is necessary. It's the business end that has to be addressed and figured out going forward.

What was really fun was creating the user-definable keys that took the first style and changed it to the second style with one keystroke. I honestly used to love doing that. We eventually wound up with a key to "transform" anything AP sent us.

At one stop the longtime agate guy, who became the web guy, was so good at writing scripts that eventually you could knock out the agate page in 10-15.

Apologies if this is horribly off-topic,. but this reminds me of when I got whacked. My head was spinning and I had a million things to do to get fully prepped for a job hunt that I wasn't ready to tackle, so I didn't lash out on social media, at the former employer, bosses, former co-workers or replacements.

The company that rode in and saved me was one I had some experience with at said former employer. They created a new position and hired me for it, at double the pay I ever saw at the former employer. And they made it crystal clear that one of the main reasons was the maturity and professionalism that I showed publicly, when I had every opportunity (and probably should have) ripped their asses for how I was treated.

Kind of the other side of the coin about how you can't erase the Internet and somebody is always paying attention.
