    Sliced sourdough with chive cream cheese and lox has replaced bagels for me. Seeded rye too.

    I like sourdough for lots of things. But, because it’s a slow-rise bread with well-developed gluten, it tends to be more structural than absorbent. With BBQ I want something that will soak up juice and sauce. That means bread that is pretty lame for just about everything else, such as thick-cut white bread, works pretty well.

    Given how "woke" the Girl Scouts are - I'm surprised there isn't an active boycott being promoted by the cyber-right. Oh and in keeping with the thread title - Overpriced and overrated. What is it up to now, $6 for 12 cookies?
