No, it's not in terms of procedure. There is no judge to enter an order and no bailiff to enforce that order. Nobody goes to prison directly for contempt during a deposition, if at all.

Also, the attorney never went to the judge for an order, so there was no basis for the court to act.

But you can provide me of an instance when someone was taken to prison for contempt.

 

IANAL (tee hee) but ... Contempt may not be commonly pursued in a depo, but perjury commonly is with zeal.

Even Maria Bartiromo couldn’t ignore Trump’s ludicrous claim that he is a brilliant judge of character who always hired the best people. She pointed out that Trump ended up firing many of his “best people,” at which point Trump pivoted to claiming that high turnover is proof of his superiority, while the Biden Administration has almost no turnover.
