Wentz got hurt in Week 11 or somewhere around there. Foles started the last few regular season games and all of the playoff games.

Wasn't Craig Morton injured in the 1978 Super Bowl, when the Cowboys beat Denver?

Did some checking, and Norris Weese replaced Morton. They combined for 61 total passing yards, and four interceptions. Probably the worst QBing in any SB.

Even worse than Champaign Tony Eason and Steve Grogan? Or David Woodley and Don Strock?

Ha I was coming here to ask about Eason, who didn't get hurt but got benched when te Patriots threw in the towel sometime early in the second quarter. (For the record, that was a comeback win for the Bears, @QYFW surely took a sledgehammer to his copy of The Super Bowl Shuffle when Tony Franklin kicked the field goal to open the scoring for the Patriots)

Remarkably, Eason and Grogan were not the worst quarterbacks against the Bears in the 1985 playoffs. That'd be the Rams' Dieter Brock, who went 10 for 31 for 66 (!) yards and an interception. Pats duo was a dismal 17 of 36 for 177 yards and did have a TD pass along with two picks, but that's better than Dieter. Not sure Montana or Brady could've done much against the Chicago D that year. The totals for opposing QBs in the playoffs were 41 of 107 for 449 yards, one TD and three picks. Oh, yeah, the Bears also had 13 sacks.

I didn't think Morton got hurt. He was just bad.

@BYH 2: Electric Boogaloo Can we get a fraud ruling on Kyle Shanahan before the game on Sunday?

Although he hasn’t won one , he’s dragged some pretty poor QB’s to the big game, which was a big part of your fraud manifesto.

    Thank you in advance.

Hand to God, I was 13 at the time and when the Patriots scored first, I announced that I was not going to school the next day if the Bears lost. My dad immediately replied to the effect that I damn sure was going to school no matter what happened.

I was there for the Boston Phoenix in the auxiliary box. When the Pats kicked the field goal, Joe Fitzgerald of the Herald, seated next to me, stuck our his hand for a solemn shake and said, "whatever else happens Mike, we can go to our graves telling people we saw the Patriots lead in a Super Bowl." Whatever else promptly happened and then some.

No one will convince me otherwise, but I will always believe the Bears wouldn't have allowed a single point the entire postseason if the Patriots didn't get that early field goal. They already had shut out the Giants and Rams by a combined score of 45-0.

4 of 15 for 39 yards and four picks. When he almost threw a fifth pick, he got benched.

According to the late Dr. Z, there were rumours he was paid off to throw the game. Might just stem from the fact that numbers that bad require an explanation.
