A ton of effort went into arranging this record. Really top notch once the shock wears off.

From a recent Lincoln Center concert. Search the three names on youtube and there are six or eight videos at least. My lord, what a show! The musicianship is so fine.

Oh, the thing with the shoes. When Cory Henry plays the organ, he keeps the shoe on his right foot, the one on what I guess is a sustain pedal. He takes off the left one, the foot he's playing the bass with. The other two each took off one shoe in solidarity, I guess.

Stewball reminds me of this rare color film of Lead Belly.

Never a hit in America, but heard this today and it's catchy as fuck.

Had 11 chart singles in the UK and only 3 Top 10 singles. Couldn't even find them in The Book. (My tattered 35-year-old book of British Hit Singles. Had to google the chart results instead.)

I will admit their musical style would've fit better in a mid-1970s U.S. musical market. In other words, just another artist too avant-garde for MTV, like The Jam, Roxy Music and a few others.

I guess this is as good a thread as any … Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires are getting divorced. That HBO documentary really foreshadowed it. I just hope for their daughter’s sake that Isbell doesn’t relapse.

You could definitely feel the tension during the doc. Bummer to hear this news, and I echo your sentiments about relapse.

Ooof - that sucks. And yeah, not surprising to anyone who saw the doc.

Their tone on social media has been off for a while, and they were often touring at the same time (not together). I felt this coming since summer, just a feeling. I don’t think either of them would be an easy partner.

Lay off on the relapse stuff. You don't know him or what he is doing. A million of people have gone through worse and didn't pick up. To make such a straight line is ignorant.

They were an Irish sister-girl pop group. Definitely would have been shunned by the punk, post-punk or pub crowd from the UK.

Their other songs suck, but this one could've/should've been an early MTV hit. Besides the song being good, they certainly would have had dudes ogling them in the video too.

How about a little Robyn Hitchcock?
