Which helps explain why Hines Ward can't break through and Wes Welker will never get a good sniff.

Would Edelman break through? A slot receiver isn't going to rack up the career yards as a deep threat, but they're so vital to offenses today and guys on the level of Welker, Ward and Edelman were huge difference makers (particularly Edelman's huge playoff and Super Bowl catches).

Edelman is another fine example of the problem. He was outstanding, but he also played on an offense with Gronk, a no-brainer Hall of Famer. So he goes into the logjam.

It's possible. Monk didn't even start for his team at one point, compiled/excelled and got in.

Ward and Welker are like three levels above Edelman for any Hall of Fame consideration

Edelman doesn’t even have a Pro Bowl to his name

    Agree 100 percent.
As an adjacency, Willis should never have had to wait this long ...though I realize that's an apples/oranges-type thing.

I might go to the HOF Game if the Bears are in it. Never been to Canton.

He'll get plenty of preseason playing time with his new team.

Fields or Williams, I'm fine with. Anyone else, I'm out. If they trade down to take Drake Fucking Trubisky, I might mail George McCaskey a threatening letter.

Good for Hester. I still can’t believe the Colts kicked to him to begin Super Bowl 41. But long before the purple rain fell on Prince at halftime, I remembered it was Peyton Manning vs. Rex Grossman. That gave me comfort. That and NOT kicking to Hester again.

I still think the Bears are right there at the end if Cedric Benson doesn't get hurt, which killed the game plan.
