    https://www.si.com/golf/2024/02/08/pga-tour-to-distribute-930-million-equity-current-members-legends

This shit is so crazy. The Tour's using $930 million of its eventual $3B for loyalty rewards, starting with $750 million in equity shares for 36 players based on career/last five years/PIP scores. So what's the over/under on what Tiger and Rory get, $200 million each?

And then there's $75 million for 36 legends who were “instrumental to building the PGA Tour, based on career performance." OK, so Jack gets $25 million and ... are they just gonna go down the career wins/majors list? Nah, there's gotta be some heavy politics here too.

No wonder fans are losing interest so fast in the Tour. How many days 'til the Masters?

I’m disgusted by the LIV capitulation, but I’ll probably watch Sunday at the Masters. And that will be it.

I've never really watched the Waste Management too often, other than the fun beer-hole highlights. Saw a couple of clips. Looks like they're playing in Scotland not Arizona. That weather is not what you want for that event.

Where do the vast majority of players develop their games to get into the Masters?

What I meant was I'm looking forward to all the best players being together again. And the PGA Tour is losing its moral high ground now that they're handing out loyalty money. It's as gross as LIV, just without the sportswashing.

Anyone else tired of just watching dudes hunch over and putt? Too many shots of putts IMHO, show more shots dammit!!

The sources of the funding for LIV and the PGA Tour are very different. One's built on blood and oil. The other is simply billionaires throwing their bucks around.

    Thanks for the lesson.

Still waiting to hear how these billionaires are expecting to make a return. Right now it looks like jocksniffing just with more zeros.

I didn't realize until a few days ago that Mets owner Steve Cohen is part of the PGA Tour investment group. Maybe that's why the Mets didn't sign another starting pitcher or extend Pete Alonso.
