College is at the 25. NFL is 75. So not a complete comparison.

Because you are the first one to get it back if it goes to sudden death.

Unlike in the season or NCAA overtime, you want to score first. Just MHO.

Hard to believe this is the first repeat in 20 years. Seems like the Patriots won like nine in a row.

It's almost like the college thinking, since both teams are guaranteed possession.

If you let KC have it first, and they score a TD, you KNOW what you need to do.

Of course, if it comes down to a team's SECOND possession in OT, you may not get a second possession yourself if you let the opposition have it first.

So there are pros and cons either way.

But in college, you know you're getting a second possession.

It's not. First time in 19 years. Patriots won in '03-04.

With both teams getting the ball no matter what it is. Know if you need 3 or 7 and let your offense have control with less overall pressure on your defense.

The Chiefs scored 19 points in regulation, the benefited from a turnover that gave them possesion deep in Niners territory. Also, that Mahomes guy is pretty good, I don’t think he tried to stop playing defense.

There’s become more of a movement for the team going second in college OT to go for 2 after a touchdown instead of a PAT to force another overtime. Especially for underdogs.

Only if it is tied. Just like in this case.

Do you not want the first crack at sudden death if they had held them to a field goal?

The college comparison doesn’t hold water since it doesn’t go to sudden death.
