And game ended at 0:03 of first overtime. Seventh-longest game in NFL history.

How is it different for the first possession? I think we are more or less saying the same thing. After that any score wins if still tied so that obviously is a different game.

Not really, its a big advantage the other way. If KC kicks a FG, then 49ers have the first possession to win with a FG. If Kelce doesn't get 22 down to the 10 and KC kicks a tieing FG there, 49ers have a huge advantage. Of course, its all moot.

To give this a wrap, Shanahan has lost twice. Bud Grant lost 4, Levy lost 4, those guys are still great coaches and great people. It happens. Wyche lost twice (really good coach, not great). Shanahan is still a tremendous coach.

I'd like to point out about "game manager" Purdy, the last 3 possessions the 49ers absolutely had to score and they did each time. Great performance.

I took the “two decades” comment I heard too literally. Stupid math.

The third possession is sudden death. This really is simple.

If it’s college rules you obviously go second.

Reeves lost four too. He probably falls into the really good and not great as well, but that Falcons team somehow went 14-2.

Dude, I know what you are saying and I know the rules. But if both teams get the ball, just like college, freaking defer so you know what you have to do on your possession. Just like they do in college. After that it's game on and doesn't matter.

    But it does matter.
