Simple math would back that up.

Really did write "when he blows a two-score lead" earlier and then added the if/ as a hedge. Silly me.

Players had nothing to do with it.

It was an enjoyable game. God knows I've seen worse Super Bowls.

Not sure I'm on board with how "classic" it was though.

It wasn’t one thing. The two big ones: muffing the punt and the missed PAT, both times the Niners retook the lead. They both hurt, yes because the muff led to a touchdown. ThePAT led to the Chiefs being able to tie the game, but we don’t know how Reid calls the game knowing he needed a TD.

It was everything. The not scoring on turnovers (but they still had the lead). Offense stalling in the third quarter (but they still had a fourth quarter lead). Not making a stop inside 2 minutes. Not having sound gap control on fourth and inches and letting Mahomes get a first down.

As good as the Niners played, it was a bunch of things that allowed Mahomes stay in the game and you can’t do that against a guy like him or a coach like Reid. Brady and the Buccs had the recipe: get them down early and snag them the whole way. Yeah the O line was crap, but the point stands.

I'm sure that's why, but if you're making decisions that are based on your defense failing, you're doing it wrong.

Halftime Show - No Scream, No DJ Got Us Falling in Love Again....disappointed. But it was fun watching with oldsters at where my my parents live - they couldn't understand any of the lyrics (probably thankfully). Bonus points for the marching band and showgirls.

Commercials - the usual - people trying to hard. The Dunkin Donuts spot was decent. Who knew aliens would be so big? A lot of whiffs. Figure the Wicked spot will be among the top 5. Some really odd ones though. Q- The Sunday Ticket "Migration" spot - why were the Falcons and Cardinals not included? They try just as hard.

The Game - A much better game than people realize. So many critical decisions early on and throughout. Special teams miscues, turnovers, injuries. A lot of blatant holding calls by the KC o-line ignored. SF did a good job preparing for KC's offense, but its the Mahomes improv stuff when the game is on the line that is impossible to imagine.

My Viewing Experience - Watched the game with the folks for the first time in years. So much fun explaining which player was dating Taylor Swift, not to mention who Taylor Swift was and when she was on camera. And of course, explaining who the "stars" in the various commercials were (though I had trouble with a couple) Was that Rita Moreno in the Doritos ad?

Blaming Shanahan is low hanging fruit that the HoT tAkEs will go after and shows how little you understand what actually happened in that game and disrespects the amazing job KC did.
