I think this was covered by Vinovich's point at the OT coin toss where he said "we have a whole new ballgame."

I agree with both teams getting a shot.

Do you give the ball to the other team at the end of the first or third quarters? The time is just a built in timeout. I think we're so accustomed to the regular season when you have a single period and then the game is over. They aren't replaying the fourth quarter. They are replaying the first except one team has a chance to win the game.

    That makes sense.

If the clock had truly been in play, the Chiefs wouldn’t have kept two timeouts in their back pocket and moseyed up to the line on every play. Not sure it would have been all that dramatic.

I've always wondered what happens in a regular-season game if a team gets the ball first, uses all 10 minutes to drive down the field, and then kicks a field goal as time expires? Does the other team still get an untimed possession or are they SOL?
Or if the receiving team kicks the FG with, say, 10 seconds left and Team B only has time for one play? Does that count as a full possession for Team B?

I think they announce the game ends of a team scores a TD or a safety or uses all the time.

I feel like just having another full 15-minute quarter would solve this OT problem. No sudden death (unless its tied after the quarter I suppose). Use your timeouts, play the quarter out.

If they go through a sixth quarter would Usher have to do a second halftime performance or would they go to "Up with People" or maybe Red Panda?

Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton had an interesting suggestion for the halftime show.

They don’t get a guaranteed possession in the regular season.

Next time the Chiefs and 49ers play, Kyle Shanahan will need an exorcist in the coaches' booth.

The Super Bowl ending with a full overtime (sans three seconds) in which both teams got the ball just underscores how stupid the regular season rule is. Fifteen minutes, both teams get the ball, if it's tied after one possession apiece it's sudden death. If it's tied after 15 minutes, it's a tie. Why does the NFL turn every 2+2 = 4 issue into quantum physics?
