The trademark “Sunday Red” is owned by a North Carolina golf apparel company.

Figured it was something like that. My opinion, if you can’t get the rights, get a different idea. That looks amateurish

I'm still amazed that Tiger played in FootJoys after the crash, like Nike didn't have a shoe that could suit him or could make him one in a day. So maybe this new brand was longer in development than we might think -- though what was shown last night was rather underwhelming.

I'd at least have presented it as

    Sun
    Day
    Red

Broke one on a tree trying to hit a dumb shot (didn't work, and was my favorite club, an 8) and, once in North Carolina, the sweat on my hands and the worn dorn grip was such that a wedge went right out of my hands into a pond.

I had the head come clean off a brand-new 3-wood the first time I tried it out at the driving range. Never busted one in anger, though. I just cuss myself out.

Was photographing a senior championship and a guy had the club head fly off on an iron on a normal swing from the tee box. One of my cooler photos, just because of the puzzled look on his face as he holds a shaft in his hands.

I once broke a 4-iron just hitting on the driving range. They were my grandfather's old clubs and were probably due to collapse like the Blues Brothers' car at the end of the movie. Not 10 minutes later, another guy on the range broke his club on a shot. Very odd.

I'm guilty of throwing a 2-iron a time or two, namely because I should have known better than to try hitting one off anything but a tee.

I used to have an awful, embarrassing bad temper on the golf course, not at all proud of it. Thankfully I've mellowed a lot and that (mostly) never happens.

I broke a 3-wood about 5-6 years ago during a junket with the boys. Trying to play it safe off the tee and topped it (of course). It wasn't even good rage. I hit the ground after the shot and it snapped off. I bought a new one at the clubhouse and still have it.

Had the head of a 5-iron break off on a swing years and years ago. That's an odd feeling. And I broke a wedge just tossing it back near my bag after a shot, no anger whatsoever. Hit something just right when it landed and boom.
