They care about anything they can use against Biden, but they also care because they think it justifies their support of Trump. Most of them know he is horrible. They know they are wrong for supporting him. They do it anyway because they can't bring themselves to admit their error or they are compelled to vote for any guy with an R next to his name, so they desperately need to draw some equivalence between him and Biden to make themselves feel better.
