Tiger withdrawing midway through his second round. Thought he looked reasonably healthy yesterday despite the middling score.

The TV broadcast says "illness" not injury. That sure seems suspect.

The man just needs to enjoy his life, host a tournament and stay clean at this point. Who is he trying to impress at this point by playing? As Domonique Foxworth likes to ask, “For who? For what?” when regular people try to lift weight amounts like professional athletes and bodybuilders.

He needs to take up chess or something.

The desire to compete is hard to turn off, especially if he thinks he can still do it. Which is very much in doubt. This actually might be an illness … apparently an ambulance was on the scene but not needed. Though that is absolutely social media speculation.

Another matter is the launch of his new product line. Has to be pressure to be out there so it sells better. Lots of factors involved when you’re as much a business as you are an athlete.

Woods’ people saying flu symptoms that started last night and got worse. Took an IV, they say.

Deny it’s an injury, back, leg, etc. For what it’s worth.

Maybe he wanted to get away from the birds squabbling on all the Golf Channel mics. Wouldn't blame him.

Friday evening West Coast golf is pretty great TV otherwise.

Yesterday, on the 18th fairway, he hit one at a 45-degree angle into the crowd. Afterward, the clueless woman doing the interviews asked about the shot and he revealed that he had back spasms the last four holes. "Well, good luck tomorrow," she babbles, not recognizing that was breaking news. Today, I watched him on 3 and 4 before I had to run errands. He bogeyed both, and was walking with a noticeable limp. The two guys in the booth -- Gannon and Nobilo -- said, well, that's the way you walk with your back in fused and your ankles are fused. He was clearly in discomfort. Now they are saying flu symptoms.

Yeah, he might very well be sick. But after looking relatively pain-free yesterday, there was pretty noticeable physical issues today that don't seem like symptoms of stomach-flu.

He’s worth a gajillion dollars and I’d bet little or maybe even none of the money from this venture is coming from his pocket. Plus there will never be a deficit of 40-something white dorks who won’t quit the guy.
