I've really liked a few of Alice's hits. I also can't forget -- and damned if I remember where I saw it -- that the ineptness of Cooper and his band was legendary among those in the music industry early in their career.

Alice is also a guy who pulled a Kiss and glossed it up in the late '80s. Desmond Child should be in the R&R HOF.

Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner from Lou Reed's awesome Rock and Roll Animal band were great working with the Coop.

True, but they were contemporaries and friends. They knew each other from the early days of the Velvets.

In terms of any contemporary figure I would lean towards maybe Beck, who have moved between musical genres very effectively. He's not nearly as image-conscious as Bowie, though.

Bowie was no scientologist. Advantage, Bowie.

For what it's worth, Beck says he was raised in Scientology but has no affiliation with it, and considers himself Jewish.

I consider myself rich. Don’t mean I am.

Yeah, I mean, I wouldn't cop to being a Scientologist if I were him, so... (shrug).

Alice Cooper, while very deep in the bottle, made perhaps the best stab-at-relevance song ever.

Alice Cooper tries Gary Numan and pulls it off wonderfully. This song rocks and might be my favorite of his overall.

I remember watching a documentary on Glen Campbell and it turned out his best friend was Alice Cooper. They were neighbors and golfed together almost every day.

My uncle golfed with him in Arizona as part of a foursome some big shot friend of his arranged. Said the Coop was a great guy and a very good golfer.
