• First points are a FG (+155)
• McCaffrey to score the first TD (+290)
• Mahomes O279.5 passing yards (+150)
• Chiefs to score 21-30 points (+130)
• Pacheco O3.5 receptions/O19.5 receiving yards (+180)
• Mahomes as MVP (+135)
• And a futures bet on Chiefs +900.
Total bet: $120, including futures bets on both the Chiefs and 49ers
Total they'll give me at the window: $155, for a $35 profit and a few hours of watch-along fun.

LOSSES
• Kelce most scrimmage yards (+1000) - This looked like there was no way in hell it would hit for most of the game, then he got hot in the fourth quarter and actually made a run at it. McCaffrey ended up taking it when the 49ers leaned on him in their overtime drive (160 total yards), but Kelce wound up leading the Chiefs (93) and was within 25 yards of McCaffrey at the end of regulation.
• Chris Jones over 0.5 sacks - So. Damn. Close. He couldn't wrap up Purdy once when he had him dead to rights, and Purdy got rid of it twice when Jones was in his face.
• Had Kelce, Rashee Rice and McCaffrey as MVP picks. McCaffrey would've won it if the 49ers won. I took Mahomes as a hedge when I saw he had plus-odds, so the amount I claw back on Mahomes vs. McCaffrey is about the same.
• Punt touchback/YES (+275/+355) - Again, so damn close. The 49ers had one hit inside the 10 and instead of a weird bounce it took a perfect one to the guy who was standing at the 2. The Chiefs were never really in a position for one of their punts to come close to a touchback.
• Field goal hits the uprights or crossbar/YES - Thought Butker's 56-yarder might hit the crossbar, but it just did sneak over. None of the other FGs or PATs came close to the uprights.

Not a bad night overall. Had, essentially, 15 bets total (some were duplicates), won six, and came out a little bit ahead. I can live with that.

 

I almost had the greatest night of all-time.

For me, the Super Bowl is a time to get silly with a handful of small longshot bets, figuring something wacky always happens and it'd be fun to win a few bucks on something like that. So I did the $5 no sweat same-game parlay on McCaffrey/Pacheco/Kelce/Samuel scoring TDs, a $3 bet on all those guys plus KC D (with KC D legged for $2), along with a $2 bet on a scorigami, a $2 bet on an Octopus, a $1 bet on the opening KO being returned for a TD, a $1 bet on any kickoff being returned for a TD and a $2 bet on a punt return for a TD. All those whiffed, but I hit on a $2 FD boost on Mahomes or Purdy throwing a 50-yard pass.

And...

A $2 parlay of Valdes-Scantling/Jennings/McCloud TDs, with each TD legged at $2/per. That would have netted more than $1,200, so that fourth quarter & OT got real interesting for a little while. Spent $28, won $36 and got the $5 back for some NHL second-period action coming up. I'll take it.

 

Buddy bet $2 w/50% profit boost on non-QB TD pass. Paid him a nice $107.

And Pistons now on 12-2 ATS run.

 

Not from tonight, but a friend of mine placed a $5 bet the day Joe Flacco signed with the Browns for Flacco to win Comeback Player of the Year. It paid $1,005 (+20000).

 

This thread is mostly about sports gambling, but I have to complain about playing blackjack.

The place I play allows a complete clown show. The dealers are really nice, but too much shit goes on.

I don’t know the last time I played blackjack anywhere. Maybe two years ago at Binion’s with a $5 minimum/stand on 17/3-2 payout.

Some hard rules the few times I’ll play.
No 6/5 blackjack.
No Jacks or Better unless it’s a 9/6 payout.

 

Never been a fan of blackjack at a table. Too much pressure. If I fuck up everyone knows it.

Now Texas Hold 'Em, that's a game you can play and fuck up and no one has to know or see your shame.

 

They have a lot of people who hang over the tables and jump in with $100 in crumpled twenties when the minimum is $50.

Last weekend there was a guy sitting at the table not betting while telling everyone how to play. I talked to the pit boss and he said he couldn't do anything. I have seen clearly wasted people playing when they couldn't even add up the cards. A guy loudly argued with a dealer for 10 minutes without security stepping in.

I realize the casino wants the business, but for people who are playing with real money, it's just a pain in the ass. I think part of it is the nature of the casino. It's a place people can just show up. It's not a destination like Las Vegas where people aren't there on a whim and they plan to play with a little more money.

The staff is great, but I don't know why they don't keep things more under control.
