Tennessee fans still pine for John Ward, who retired after the 1998 season and died in 2018. And with good reason.

Yes. That one was Ray Perkins, who added the athletic director title when Bryant died. Perkins got a lot of hate for that one I’m told, and the fan base never really warmed up to Paul Kennedy, who lasted five years and now calls Orlando Magic games. (He’s the play by play guy for Van Tiffen’s 52-yard game-winning field goal in the 85 Iron Bowl, if you’ve ever heard that clip.)

According to Andrew Marchand, Jac Collinsworth out after two years as NBC’s pbp guy for Notre Dame. Dan Hicks to return.

Well it can't possibly be because he wasn't enough of a shill. ND broadcasts are painful to watch, they're such homers and every other shot is of the coach on the sidelines. I'd think BC fans could never forgive Flutie for being a ND honk the years he was on their broadcasts.

“hey lets throw some 25-year-old kid out there to do Notre Dame games!”

And no, he’s not Noah Eagle, who amazes me for being so poised at that age. Helps that his dad is one of the best in the business.

If only my old BGA classmate Mike Keith would pick up the orange and white courtesy phone that rings every offseason.

If you get Mike Keith off Titans broadcasts I will cut you. And then I’ll have nothing to listen to on Sundays in prison.

I remember a quote from Ray Perkins saying that he received more criticism by replacing Forney than for any other change he made to the program when he took over for Bryant.

Ray Perkins post-coaching career once showed up at a remote radio broadcast I was co-hosting.
Post-show, a woman bitched to me he tried to pick her up. I shrugged my shoulders and continued eating.
    Sorry ... that's all I've got.

Can't dislike Ray Perkins, who got the Jints to the playoffs for the first time in my fandom.
