    I'm always stunned that one of these techies who gets laid off hasn't coded in some kind of worm or bug or whatever that wreaks havoc on the entire system. Probably too easy to trace the originator.

    Way too easy. And, not unlike newspapers, tech is actually a pretty small world. If you want to get another job someday, you won’t want your burning bridge to be quite so visible.
