How did that compare to the amount of assistants to the rest of the teams in the league?

How many assistants did KC have this year?

Ernie Adams in New England was supposedly the guy in charge of clock management for the fraud Belichick.

He was in charge of a lot of stuff, nothing anyone talked about b/c it was all murky and surely shady.

I was going to read that but then I saw Mike Freeman so nope.

But--and I can't believe I'm saying this about Mike Freeman tripe--the thesis, as declared in the headline, has some merit. I think we've all figured out by now that coaches are only as good as their players. And lots of white dudes have parlayed being in the right place at the right time into head coaching jobs where they were exposed as FRAUDS. Fuck, Josh McDaniels & Adam Gase got TWO HC gigs when one should have been more than enough to prove they had zero chops when Tom Brady & Peyton Manning weren't their QBs. It's fair to wonder why Bieniemy's HC candidacy withered on the vine for a half-decade when he was doing well w/Patrick Mahomes and why he has to go to college after he couldn't work wonders with Sam Howell.

But Bieniemy also has quite the legal past. I can see how that would make his path harder. You'll have to let me know if Freeman mentioned it though. I'd rather read 10,000 words by you on the history of the Steelers third-string QBs. :D

I think Bieniemy has proven that he's not a panacea for anyone. Although I'm sure Carron J. Phillips might see it differently.

I can make the stories of Scott Campbell, Rick Strom, and Tee Martin sing!

Edit: Damn. I meant Tee Martin, not Tee Higgins.

Outside of his aforementioned issues, Bienemy was hurt by two things: Nagy, the previous Chiefs non-playcalling OC flaming out in Chicago, and, more importantly, him flaming out as Commanders OC this year. That offense completely fell apart and the quarterback he was tasked with developing got benched. And he was solely in charge of the offense. At one point, he had a second-year player with one career start entering the season leading the NFL in pass attempts and yardage (and sacks) behind one of the league's worst offensive lines. That ridiculous approach eventually caught up to everyone involved and was a large part of why the team ended the season on a monthslong losing streak.

If he showed he was even decent last year, he'd still be in the NFL. He'll likely be back anyway -- unless he sucks in college, too.

The person who has been the clock manager for the Jets the last two years has done a great job and cleaned up a bunch of earlier mistakes.
