Random fun fact: Ole's son, Bryant Rogowski, is one of two pro wrestling sons to win a high school state wrestling title for Etowah High in Woodstock, GA before then becoming a pro wrestler himself. The other: Bron Breakker.

On the other side of the county, Sydne Watts, the daughter of Erik and granddaughter of Bill, is now a basketball player at Navy.

Holy hell, that was a wicked fight between Imperium and New Day. New Day hasn't had a brawl like that since probably their Cell match against the Usos.

I realize it was probably done for the visual, but tonight Paul Heyman was presented as the only member of Generation X who hasn’t figured out how to make a three-way call from an iPhone.

Also, if he’s going to bring up his schtick wasn’t the logical response for Cody to ask him if he’s even seen his schtick in 30 years without using the bathroom mirror?

First he's volunteering to be some guy's best man, and now this. Can't say Cody isn't a man of the people.

The mystery man with the black and white text vignettes in NXT is SHAWN SPEARS?!?!

    Yep.

And the reveal was ruined by USA editing the “holy shit” chants.

The censorship aside, it came outta nowhere. I figured he would be content running the school with Breeze and being a dad after his AEW deal ended.

It's a great veteran addition. And the character would be great if he's more of the ruthless Chairman and not whatever Tye Dillinger was back in the day (though the live fans who could see did give some "10" chants).

But he's got to be a face to Ridge, who nobody gives two shits about.

What a time for WWE nepo babies in NXT. One is the GM, another is tag champ and another now holds the Heritage Cup.

But seriously, I like the potential for what Dempsey can do -- especially if it puts Regal on TV more.

That sets things up well for NXT Mania weekend. Trick returns next week to cost Carmelo, and then we have Trick and Melo in the grudge match (and Melo's NXT farewell), and Tony D vs. Dragunov.

Does Tony D take the belt to send Dragunov to the main roster? Would love to see the rivalry renewed with Gunther.

I dont know if Tony D is really NXT championship material

the guy’s doing better than could ever be reasonably expected for a mob boss gimmick but there’s a ceiling there I think

There was different leadership during the NXT 2.0 era, but considering Tony D. is the one who "retired" Ciampa from NXT, I think they've had high expectations for him. They just needed to let him cook for a bit.

I thought the gimmick was trash at first, but I think Tony has had a chance to prove his worth well.

With Bron and Melo moving up, and the Dragunov/Trick stuff still fresh, there's really nobody to challenge Dragunov, and nothing more for Dragunov to accomplish.
