I'm not much of a fan but this one always gets cranked when I hear it:

The young lady to whom this post refers was featured in a popular gentleman's magazine in 1984. (Miss America Vanessa Williams was also in that magazine.) Turns out, the young lady was really young, like 15 or so, when those photos were shot. I was relieved that by the time that information became available, I no longer owned that particular issue of the magazine.

Hell, I was born 16 years later in 1970. At that time, I was as close to the publication of "Over There" and "When Alexander Takes His Ragtime Band to France" as I was to my current age today. That's some bleak-ass shit.

Heh-heh. Wow. That must be depressing for you. Thank God I'm not that old!

    (Born in '71.)

Born on Feb. 9, 1972 — a date I frequently get to recite on my ever-increasing doctor and pharmacy visits.

As I’ve said before, the Gen X vibe is strong here!

I know someone who worked in adult at the time, and that person is convinced that the young lady you refer to was lying about being underage. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I was 14 at the time and we somehow got hold of a copy. There was also a Pet of the Year retrospective in that issue and some interesting Forum letters. The young lady in question may have been really young at the time (they claimed she was 19 of course), but even at her real age she was 2 years older than me, so I feel OK.

Further proof that old age makes you lose it. I had a copy of that issue at one point. (Well, my dad did and I snuck peeks.) I remember the Vanessa Williams stuff very well. I do not remember the other young lady being in there. My loss. She was more age-appropriate for me at the time.
