They tried to help the other drivers by allowing DRS after one lap and Leclerc couldn’t even stay within a second for that long. ‍

Terribly boring race to begin the season.

    Kyle Larson beat, big surprise.

Reddick was coming for him, but it seems like Larson kicked it into another gear in the last 10 laps.

Surely R&T got exactly the story it expected when commissioning her. Weasel editor.

She's a good writer though. This got a chuckle:

Austin is a weird town. The people there like that about it. Keep Austin Weird, the bumper stickers say. It used to be a kind of Portland of the South, a liberal oasis in a sea of red before the tech industry moved there. That designation has been transferred to Asheville, the North Carolina mountain town that's now a mecca for people who did the softer drugs in college and like beer that tastes like pine needles.

That's quite the interesting story but not surprising given her probably easy-to-search history.

What did they expect her to write if they knew her past? Some fawning piece about F1 and Ineos? Did the person or persons who hired her get hit with a tire iron?

It almost seems planned. Or done by someone thinking "Ah, this will be a nice change of pace."

Apparently the Editor-in-Chief the day it dropped was not the Editor-in-Chief when it was assigned, and he was blindsided. I think it lacked the toadying he knew readers had come to expect.

I wanted to read it, but couldn't make it through.

I got to the end. I don’t usually read anything like that. I’m not sure what the point was.

Still reading the above article, but to a completely different point …

I’m rewatching the first season of Drive to Survive and it is SOOOOO much better. The storytelling, the access, the way they focus more on the teams, drivers, and their families off-track.

    Season 6 is:
Team A is competing with Team B.
    Max Wins
Geri Horner wears white pants and hosts family event
    Max Wins
Team A has some concerns about Driver A and Driver B is coming for him
    Christian Horner gives opinion
    Max Wins
Team A is struggling leading up to Race A
Christian Horner talks about someone not named Sergio Perez
THE PRESSURE ON TEAM A IS HUGE
    Max Wins
Claire Williams tells viewer they will never understand pressure
    Christian Horner weighs in
    Max Wins
Team A places high enough to accomplish Goal A
    Max Wins
Driver thanks the factory, dedicates 14tb place finish to garage
Team B is looking forward to testing
    Christian Horner offers opinion
    Max wins
    Rinse, repeat.
