The yang to the "more police" yin.

    No thanks.

More debt (with the city literally at a fiscal cliff now) and an even bigger -- and inevitably highly ineffective and wasteful -- "apparatus" has been a major contributor to the economic problems (and misery for a lot of people) causing the problems.

Someone from the future gives you this message in 2000. Your head is swimming.

Trump? Steve Garvey? MAGA movement? I can fight it with $3?

That’s why I find it amusing whenever MTG or Cruz or whomever talk about a “national divorce.”

Oh, really, GQPer? You’re willing to give up your Congressional pension and benefits? You hate the United States enough that you want to leave, so why do you think the good ole USA is going to honor your benefits?

I'm dead serious when I ask: who/when has the GOP picked anyone for a major office that would be a good candidate going forward?

What is the "conservative" solution to homelessness other than tearing down the tents and pushing the homeless somewhere else, preferably in the next jurisdiction?

    I've always wondered . . .

If it's an unalienable right, why the fuck isn't it free?

And if Gov. Hochul wanted to use those resources make a difference in transportation safety, she should have considered using them to enforce traffic laws, since traffic deaths have skyrocketed over the past few years. But since transit riders are choosing public transportation over private and therefore less than, it's a lot more palatable to hold them at gunpoint for a photo op.

To be fair, “going forward” isn’t really their thing. Usually it’s going backwards, usually to about 1862.
