Hopkins will pull in about 21 million for the seven years he coached at UW, if you include the year that the school still owes on the contract. If he had stayed at Syracuse he would have been making 300K a year until this year, been living in Syracuse and dealing with Jim Boeheim every day. I think it worked out OK for Hopkins.

 

He's 55. You get a job that pays you into your 60s, he can easily walk away. And if he wanted, just about any midmajor would take him

 

I don't think they would either, but all the talk is that he's safe for next year, instead of a press conference this weekend to announce a chance after they lose in the Big Ten Tournament

Oh I agree it worked out, just saying Boeheim's last lap took so fucking long, Hopkins went from guy who can name his price if he wants to leave Washington to fired and probably done as a HC.
