The main reason Fife was let go at Indiana was he didn’t get along with Mike Woodson, but a secondary reason sayeth the rumor mill is he was proselytizing right-wing nonsense to players. Doubt that would fly at Michigan.

What does Ford do now? All of T. Boone’s money couldn’t save him at Okie State, and he wasn’t very good at Saint Louis. He’ll be lucky to ever get another head coaching job.

Surprised it didn't fly at Indiana, though.

If he has saved and invested his money wisely, he won't need to work again. If he really needs the fix of basketball, he can be the seventh assistant for some NBA team.

I read somewhere, I think on one of the coaching search Twitters, that Ford was offered a partial buyout of his full buyout (supposedly in the $10M range) last year and declined. The belief was that he just loves coaching that much to give it another shot. Or he could just want every last red cent. I suppose we'll find out if he's strolling the sidelines at an NEC school or working as that seventh assistant in the NBA next year.

Guys like that make perfect TV analysts, provided they work at it. I remember eons ago when he was the hot young thing at Zoo Mass.

Ford's fairly articulate on radio, FWIW. I get the impression he's a lifer, though.

EDIT: Just ran across this quote from an AP report:
“This game’s been very good to me. Now it’s time to do something else,” he said.
    So ...

Why wouldn't it? They put up with Harbaugh's nonsense.

Indiana as an institution, Bloomington itself, and a decent amount of the grad base is blue.

Chris Holtmann wasn't unemployed very long. He's now rumored to be the next DePaul coach.

Mike Boynton out at Okie State.

Jerry Stackhouse probably out at Vandy.

Kyle Smith isn't going to be in Pullman much longer.
