That opening scene in the Simply Red video is so classically western Irish -- it seems like every other town has a ruined church and a graveyard.

 

I love a number of kinds of music, and have always described this as having eclectic tastes in music

It has recently occured to me that I am polyjamorous.

I've never been to Ireland, have zero understanding of the lay of the land and all that ...

... but the opening strums and tone into the lyrics, and throughout, feels like you're listening to this on the northern coast of Ireland at the start of a gray and gloomy morning.

 

One could argue Ann's singing on this is the best ever heard live...

 

She's a world-class shouter as evidenced here, one of the best covers of this old chestnut (the whole band kicks some ass on this one):

Had a summer fling with a girl who loved the Indigo Girls. I was her final boyfriend. Chemistry wasn’t great, but she’s the only ex who I have a friendship with.

 

I prefer my songs about rock and roll to be written by Americans.

 

Went in search of bands that sound like Wet Leg and found one that sounds like Happy Mondays.

I love 26-year-old Ann Wilson.

 

Cut live in the studio, just her accompanying herself on guitar, no overdubs, no studio magic. Great tone and perfect pitch. She was basically unknown when she was alive and sold ten million records after she was dead.
