Watching Wolves-Nuggets on NBA TV. These local announcers are just brutally homerish.

That was really bad. I don't think I've heard those guys for an extended period before.

One of the best things about NBA League Pass is hearing all the local crews. For sheer homer amateurishness those Wolves announcers are up there with the Hornets crew and the Kings' B-team. (Mark Jones is the main Kings guy but he misses a lot of games for his ESPN duties.)

I win, er, lose. I get Bob Fitzgerald for every Dubs game not on a network.

South Sudan barely has a functioning government but manages to put a team in the Olympic men's basketball tournament. Intriguing.

This is the market where Paul Allen is a fixture doing Vikings games, so the Timberwolves guys seem neutral and understated by comparison. Although I will say I've always found Jim Petersen to really be pretty good at analyzing and explaining technical basketball stuff - I've learned some things about the game from him.

Scalabrine has taken a big step back on the Celtics broadcasts. He was Heinsohn Lite when he arrived on the scene but had tempered his homerism in the last couple of years.

I don't know if it was a memo from the boss or that the Cs are league favorites this year, but the guy on NBA Radio is not the same guy doing the games. He is over the top and waaaay too amped.

The Nuggets TV crew is terrible. Not as bad as the Rockies but they suck.

Understanding that Gobert wasn’t playing and KAT is hurt, but when Jokic hits a big shot, the immediate takeaway from the announcers shouldn’t be the gritty and undermanned Wolves have a chance to make it a one possession game.

I guess that I have been spoiled with the excellent Knicks and Nets local announcers
