    Vick was actually significantly better.

Quite often. Regarding football, I was very happy when they signed Queen. I don't see why I would be particularly happy about them signing Fields when I don't think he is very good. It's not awful. At least he can be a cheap backup for a year.

They didn’t sign Fields, they traded for Fields. All three starting quarterbacks from last year signed as backups elsewhere. The Steelers definitely upgraded that position, starter and backup, in the last couple weeks.

The Eagles didn't sign Pickett. They traded for him. :)

The Steelers would have found another trading partner. I think they knew they were getting Fields when they made that move. Neither of them has been great, but there are some good arguments that they were better off with Pickett. He had two more years on his rookie deal instead of one. He doesn't turn the ball over as much. Most importantly, he is at his best in the fourth quarter with the game on the line, exactly the time that Fields is at his worst. I'm not sure you can teach that last one.

Being in a position where you’re set up for success, and not failure, can help Fields. There’s a reason the Steelers are perceived one way and the Bears another. Pickett also had the benefit of having a top-tier defense help him hang around for three-plus quarters, despite the offense doing nothing, before playing hero and winning the game with one drive.

What the Steelers would prefer, I’m sure, is that the offense is competent, scores points, and allows the defense to play with a lead. The trio that just left to become backups elsewhere next season didn’t consistently do that. They’re betting that Wilson and Fields would.

Did you miss Ben DiNucci's cameo appearance with the Cowboys?

Or perhaps the John Beck Experience with the team now known as the Commanders?

Am I the only one who gets triggered by this thread title? Every time I see "Continuous Journey" it flashes me back to some "Continuous Improvement" HR bullshit from a newspaper I worked at 20 years ago.
