Virginia's last six seasons (not including the pandemic-halted 2019-20 campaign, in which the Cavs won 11 of 12 to end the season and looked to be at least a little dangerous heading into the tournament): four first-round losses (one of them an infamous loss), one NIT bid and one national title in which Virginia was the highest-rated KenPom team ever to win it all (the Cavs also are the last pre-tournament KenPom No. 1 to cut down the nets). What a bizarre run.

If Virginia had the demanding fan base and silly expectations of, say, a North Carolina, Kentucky or Kansas, would Bennett still have a job with that resume?

Seems low. I'll go with 66. Yale and Northwestern being the exceptions. Maybe Colgate. Maybe Virginia. After that, they'll all let in a player if he's good enough.

Whoops, I misread the question and was looking at all the teams in this year's NCAAT.

Out of the P5 and Big East: The exceptions are Stanford, Northwestern, Vandy & Wake. That's it.

This is crazy similar to the Caps' recent run of form.
    2016-17: Lost 2nd round
    2017-18: Won Stanley Cup
    2018-19: Lost 1st round
    2019-20: Lost 1st round (bubble)
    2020-21: Lost 1st round
    2021-22: Lost 1st round
    2022-23: Missed playoffs

Goodwill from a championship season will only last so long...

Siena fired Carmen Maciariello after a 4-28 season. That program has really dropped.
