    Three or four really, really ticky-tak touch fouls on drives that turned into 3-point plays really gave Grambling a boost when they needed it. Very borderline calls.

    The Pac-12 and the MWC are the premier basketball conferences on the West Coast. Colorado and Boise State took third in their respective leagues. Neither flamed out in their tournament; Colorado reached the Pac-12 finals, BSU the MWC semifinals, after eliminating the MWC's highest-seeded team in the quarterfinals. And somehow they are meeting in a play-in game.

    This is a monumental fuckup by the Selection Committee. Incomprehensible. Every college hoops commentator in the country should be on top of this, but it seems to be going under the radar.

    Because it involves teams west of the Mississippi, including one from a league that will be no more in a few months.

    Also, nice seeding so far. The first three games saw the lower seeded team win, so hopefully a good omen with the Buffs in black tonight.

    Grambling seems to be the only Louisiana school leaning more into the “State” moniker. Nicholls has also gone to the single-word identity, at least for athletics.
