A well-deserved Oscar to Martin Landau, IIRC.
A damn good overall cast, as well. Watching G.D. Spradlin (of Canadian Bacon fame) as a preacher financing one of Wood's films is hilarious. Reminds me of R. Lee Ermey in Fletch II as the corrupt television preacher.
Bill Murray, Sarah Jessica, Jeffrey Jones, Matt Starr. The film may be bad or good, but it grabs me every single time.

Congo. *Stefon voice* - This movie has everything. Killer gorillas, diamonds, lasers, sesame cake, Tim Curry and Ernie Hudson feasting on gigantic piles of ham, Delroy Lindo somehow upping the insanity from even their levels, a way too overqualified Laura Linney as the female lead but its before she really got famous. The only mistake they made was killing off Bruce Campbell in the movie's prologue, instead of having him be the god damn lead. Congo is absolute trash, but highly entertaining trash.

This one may not be available on any platform, because it's very old (early '60s). But if you can find it, let me recommend The Long Ships, with Richard Widmark as a Viking adventurer and Sidney Poitier as a Morrish prince, each searching for a fabulous ancient treasure. These two great American movie stars have the time of their lives hamming it up in this ridiculous picture, and it's a tribute to their professionalism keep straight faces throughout.

Natural Born Killers is the most bizarre film I've ever seen. Count me among those that think it is bad ... really bad.

In the recent Road House podcast, Kyle Brandt made the point that what makes Road House is that everyone involved takes the movie dead seriously. He said Swayze thinks he’s in a Kurosawa film.

Apparently Ben Gazzara loved being recognized for Road House, even though he had a pretty serious resume.

I was just thinking about this one. I remember watching it as a teen and wondering how I could bring myself to cheer for Ivan Drago’s evil manager (Michael Pataki).

Jeff Gaylord had one heckuva checkered past.

He seemed like he had a look that Vince McMahon would have loved in the early-90s, but only did one match for the WWF.
