Andy Kennedy has 101 wins in his four seasons at UAB. Bucky's name was mentioned often in the "What if AK leaves" thread on the UAB board long before last night.

Pray that Memphis doesn’t tire of the Penny sideshow and cast eyes on Homewood.

I still think that Penny gets at least one more year, but I'll be surprised if Bucky does not take a long step up the food chain.

    This is an insane idea.

If Pearl bolts, does Andy go to Auburn and Bucky to UAB?

If anything Auburn would cut out the middleman and go straight for Bucky.

Is he ready for that big of a leap?
If he is, good on him.

Probably needs a mid-major stop first. It was more a commentary on Andy Kennedy’s prospects. Maybe he gets another power school gig, but I can’t see it being anyone in the SEC, especially someone with juice like Auburn. He did not wear well at Ole Miss.

Seriously here: Does Kentucky really have $34,000,000 to make Calipari go away? Because I doubt he’s settling for less.

They have enough to pay him $10m a year to begin with, so probably. I bet they give him one more year, with maybe him realizing that he does need to play the transfer market more aggressively instead of focusing hard on underclassmen. They had three Top 10 recruits this year - they combined for 13 points in 36 minutes against Oakland. Dillingham was just out of the Top 10, and had 10 points on 2-for-9 shooting. Reeves and Tre Mitchell, of all people, were 5+ year players and the two that weren't crapping themselves at the end of that game.

Hard to say what Andy might do. UAB is home, and he's been paid enough SEC money that he's already set for life. I hear rumors that Okie Lite is interested, don't know how much to believe it. They could triple his pay and hand him a big NIL bag for him to recruit with. UAB has squat for NIL, an AD who hates it and wants to spend money on facilities he can take credit for and a university president who would rather see UAB athletics at the Troy or Jacksonville State level. Neither of them seem to understand that if we had spent enough on NIL this season to have one more big we could well have made a run, or the value of making a deep run.
