Good point, especially since they added in last year teams can play more than one Thursday game on short rest.

Don't know why they haven't extended the season an extra week with a second bye, with the second bye used for Thursday games. It's another week of programming for networks/Amazon.

Thanks. Story must have been updated after I posted. If so, the four teams that play on that Wednesday, which will be Week 17, will be off for a week and a half before their Week 18 game.

The NFL should go with the ORIGINAL XFL kickoff.

You need help for remembering that. Apparently, so do I. :D

    Was that the scramble?

They placed the ball at midfield and a member of each team ran from their goal line. Winner's team got the ball. In the league's opening week 20 or so years ago, I was at the Orlando game and the "kickoff" resulted in one of the players getting injured and knocked out of the game.

Oh, they lined up together. It's been a minute.

A minute indeed. That was actually 2001...a few months before 9/11 (I just remember it being one of the last harmlessly weird things). What is the XFL going on now, it's fourth attempt?

The more violent the sport, the more fun it is, i.e. water polo

    Wait a minute.
The first version of the XFL preceded 9/11. The second was interrupted by the COVID pandemic.
Can't wait for Week 2 of this upcoming UFL season, when the Memphis vs. Birmingham game is halted for a frogs and locusts delay.
