UN Security Council demands immediate ceasefire in Gaza

The United States abstained, allowing the U.N. Security Council to demand an immediate cease fire in Gaza and the immediate release of all hostages by Hamas. I doubt either side is going to listen. The last cease fire failed when Hamas violated its promise to release hostages.

 

Interesting that Russia and China shot down a U.S. proposal for this over the weekend.

 

I truly wonder if those poor saps in Russia were actually involved or they are just low-level punks Putin keeps around in case he needs to find "the perpetrator" for some bit of unplanned mayhem in Russia - I wonder if they get early release if they say they were acting on Ukraine's orders. It would be funny if ISIS brought out the actual people who did it - just to mess with Russia some more.

 

Looking at those guys, "early release" means they'll die in a gulag at age 30 instead of 40.
