The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh was the zenith of Dr. J's acting career.

Oh, man, I can't believe I didn't think of coming in here and mentioning it before now. That movie came out about a year after "Fast Break" the hoops movie with Gabe Kaplan and Bernard King. I always thought of those two movies as my adolescent twin basketball guilty pleasures.

And, in honor of Louis Gossett Jr., who today moved on up to that big movie studio in the sky, there's this gem with Chuck Norris and Melody Anderson.

I never saw it, but Alex English of all 1980's NBA stars was in Amazing Grace and Chuck.

Airheads. My best buddies from high school and I went to see it the day before I left for college for the first time. We enjoyed it, it is silly and I didn't realize that probably we were the only ones who saw it in the theater. Stronger than expected cast. Fun cameos and solid supporting players.

"The Lone Rangers?" Definitely a silly, stupid movie that's elevated by how many experienced comics and actors are around. Sandler, Buscemi, Fraser, then just great supporting parts for people like Michael McKean, Judd Nelson, Joe Mantegna, Michael Richards... Even Mike Judge has a really fun "cameo."

That it was filmed at the site where they shot DieHard always makes me laugh.

Spring Break isn't exactly Citizen Kane but it still reminds me of my days partying in those bars on the Lauderdale strip. I'll still toss in the DVD on snowy winter weekends.

Spring Break IS Citizen Kane compared to this one....
Though the trailer is a classic.

And then there is The Beach Girls....

I rented the original Trancers b/c I would rent anything as a kid. Zero recollection of it other than it was very short (75 mins?).

HBO should devote a weekend to showing all of the programs they showed in the 1980s

    One Crazy Summer
    Licensed to Drive
    Caddyshack 2
    Tales from the Crypt
Half Hour Comedy Special of some rando comic
