Mulkey said that while she is fair game, her players aren’t

Sorry but you can't play this card any more thanks to NIL. The purity of playing for dear old alma mater while handling your schoolwork and then going onto to be an accountant doesn't fly when your best player makes millions

I think Summitt would've had some or similar thoughts, responses, comments about issues, but wouldn't have been as much of a constant asshole about it.

Well, it was a porn series in the late 80s-early 90s.

I don’t agree about using sexist language or anything like that, but I also don’t agree with Mulkey that women players are not fair game for criticism. For decades, women have been wanting parity with men’s sports. That includes criticism. The LAT writer was apparently trying to go for the good vs. evil angle and maybe fell short (I didn’t read the column). But using that angle is still fair game. Catholics vs. Convicts, anyone?

Heck of a finish in the D-II men's final - corner 3 hit with 0.8 left gets Minnesota State its first title.

Also, Iowa is up 20+ with 6 minutes left in the fourth. Why is Clark still out there?

Exactly. And, you know, fuck Kim Mulkey. They give NIL bucks to public figures, and public figures are fair game for critique.

I've always thought players were fair game for criticism before NIL. The value of a scholarship and all that comes with being a D-I athlete at most schools is not insignificant.

And their women's team won last night. First time that's happened in D-II since 1984.

I'm wasn't pointing out that NIL has become the dividing line for that thinking, but if Angel Reese is going to get millions of dollars and the trappings of NIL, no one gets to say she's just some innocent little basketball player beyond reproach.
