Now there's something few have said in 2024. You should screenshot and send to Ponte Vedra, they might offer you a VP gig.

Playing golf with my dad, proven again yesterday, is untenable for me. I've lost my mind for the millionth - but, unfortunately, not the last - time, I believe. He complains on literally every shot, yet has forged some sort of weird Faustian bargain to be the luckiest retired guy golfer in the history of this storied game. He bitches, moans, never misses a fairway and never hits so much as a sliver of pine needles when barreling some medium-height hook through and around a tree. Meanwhile, I hit four trees yesterday, and it's a wonder any of them are still standing.

He finishes with some sort of 77 or whatever, dinking his bullshit from the green tees while complaining of foot pain and never once actualizing the self-awareness one should have for such improbable good fortune. I should add he has seven or eight or nine hole-in-ones, or something. I've lost count, but he could tell you. Lord, could he.

I don't know if his bargain will eventually catch up with him when he greets St. Peter, but even if he slips past those gates into paradise, he will complain about having done so by skulling his chip shot to 4 feet instead of three.

Go, Dad! The last golf shot decades ago by my Dad, who passed in 2022, he chipped in from 75 feet. He taught me to play, and I still use his Bristol mallet putter with original grip, probably 65 years old. He was a good athlete -- second in the all-Newark high hurdles at 15, played end and kicker on his champion House team. Missed his only extra point when, because of war travel restrictions, they took on the Boston University varsity and its Wing-T in the snow and lost, 22-16. Miss him.

Not wanting Bones for at least one more trip around Augusta seems crazy.

It does. JT's game has been suspect for a bit now. Maybe just throwing spaghetti at the wall?

Here's a way to kill 13 minutes over lunch. Love that the 16th ace at the 16th was in 2016.

The Bhatia kid has it on autopilot in San Antonio.
6 clear now. Stiff breeze could send him rolling like a tumbleweed, and hits it a mile.

I've been watching Akshay around NC golf for a long time. He's been that kind of phenom around here. Took a chance on himself to turn pro early and skip college, and is making it work. Really, really impressive.

I looked at the Texas Open leaderboard. And I looked at the LIV leaderboard.

Rory or no (and he's out of the hunt now), the LIV wins today, IMHO.

Maybe you should watch, then. Bhatia is going to be a fucking superstar, and Denny McCarthy just made seven straight birdies to close his round. Playoff incoming. LIV and its shit 54-hole format can fuck right off.
