Am I out of line thinking he’s essentially Timofey Mozgov? A guy who in another era would’ve been a nice five?

True, but not really blue-blood programs.

Isn't part of being an excellent recruiter and evaluator (not necessarily the head coach) being able to project what a kid will be four or five years down the road? Clearly so many programs missed on this. Over the past couple years I'd suspect in their private moments some kicked themselves for not using that 13th throwaway scholarship on Edey.

Who knows how good he'll be in the NBA? Not Purdue's problem. Painter's paid to develop players and win games for Purdue.

His story is similar to Drew Eubanks. Kid was a Randy Johnson-sized baseball pitcher until his junior year in high school, then started playing basketball. I think Oregon State was his only real offer out of high school in the Portland area; if not, he sure wasn't deluged with choices. Kid works hard, develops, and is now in the NBA as a credible backup/part-time starter.

He had one of those early in the game against Aidoo, I think it was, shoving him back out of the way for a rebound. Then Aidoo got called for a foul trying to work his way back into position to go after the ball.

Feel for Kellie Harper. Seems like a great person, and someone who lived and died with that program.

And pretty rough when you get axed after not being able to break through against the likes of South Carolina and LSU in your own conference.

Another delusional fanbase still thinking its 1995 or 2000.

Exactly. The glory days aren’t coming back, and if they do it will mean a championship every decade or two, not mowing down all comers. And it won’t be with anyone from Pat’s coaching tree.

Exactly! It's ridiculous for a program that's among the greatest of all time and is funded at a level second-to-none to expect to go beyond the Sweet 16 every couple of years. Dumb hillbillies.

Delusional fanbase would be something like Colorado football thinking it should win it every year because they shared one national title 25 years ago.

But when you not only lead the nation in overall victories --- but are 180 ahead of the second-place team --- yeah, you are expected to win more than zero CONFRERENCE championships in a decade.

Including the one who asked for a source on a university account. But it is Tennessee.

Kellie Harper was 12-37 against RANKED teams. Not "top 5" or "top 10" teams. But just any old ranked team.

That's fireable for a piddling program with no history.
